The International President message for Hwarang

Hello! This is Julian Kim, the International President for Hwarang, and I hope you are all staying safe despite this pandemic. I am currently a Senior attending Sunny Hills High School and I love to stay active playing sports and meeting new people. Regardless of the situation, I wish you all had a wonderful New Years with your close ones.

I want to address some things about communication. There will be a monthly email such as this one, regarding information, projects, or anything in general. Members may send me an email, if they have questions or an idea to share, but for the most part, it would be easier if the presidents contact me through KAKAOTALK, so any questions, comments, or concerns can be sent there. Communication is KEY to success, so don't be afraid to speak up and share your wonderful ideas!

Now, I want to share some project ideas.

1. An idea for sending care packages to people in need was shared. Over here in Southern California, we sent some over to Guatemala not so long ago, filling each package with some essentials and goods. Thinking of different items would be greatly appreciated. (ex: shoes, etc.) The whole goal is to be able to reach out to people we physically can't as of right now.

2. Another idea is to teach other students different subjects, such as coding. Since everything is operating digitally, we can communicate and teach other individuals distant from us. The SOS website would be the one probably in use. Other topics are always open as well. The goal is to educate more of our peers to enhance our society as a whole.

So far, these are two ideas coming from our behalf. What I want from you guys is some ideas, either things that would benefit the existing ideas already stated, OR something completely new as a whole.

*I LOVE new ideas and I want to see different perspectives, so please share different service ideas!*

I am so glad that I can connect with you all and I truly hope we can continue working together to serve our global community for the better.
